Sales and Partnerships Lead
Hi, I’m Joel, and I’m excited to be joining the Encore team as the new Sales & Partnerships Lead.
That means I’ll be striking up deals with other companies to keep the number of bookings on Encore growing, and making sure Encore musicians get discounted access to the services they need.
My career began with Universal Music Group in Los Angeles (many years ago) working in digital sales and outside of work managing a professional musician/musical director who’s clients included Kenny ‘Babyface’ Edmonds.
Moving back to London in 2009, I enjoyed roles with EMI and Universal before moving into the world of brand partnerships with agencies Harmonic Music and Havas Sports & Entertainment. Most recently I was Head of EU Sales & Partnerships for San Francisco-based start-up Teespring, a custom on-demand clothing platform.
For me, joining Encore represents more than a career opportunity, it’s a chance to embark upon a mission I genuinely care about. In an era where companies such as Airbnb and Uber have completely reimagined their respective marketplaces, I believe the music bookings industry is due a much-needed upgrade. Bookers need it and musicians deserve it. Joining a team of talented and entrepreneurial musicians to help build this solution is really, really exciting!
Outside of work I love to work out, learn, watch sports, and play guitar (I have a thing for maj7 and minor 9th chords!). My playlists always combine newly discovered artists with old favourites, though at the moment I find myself often defaulting back to John Mayer’s Born & Raised album. It sounds like summer!
