Encore Backstage: Public Liability Insurance

altThanks for stopping by for the latest installment of Encore Backstage, your behind-the-scenes pass to the latest and greatest developments on the Encore platform!

We’ve had over £100,000 of bookings pass through Encore since we started our quest to help musicians get more gigs, and in that time we’ve learned a few things about what helps clients choose the right musicians.

One of the most important factors in this decision is trust. For a while now you’ve been able to add references and testimonials to your profile, as well as receive reviews for previous gigs. This all helps build trust with a potential customer. But for many musicians, and particularly groups or bands, it’s crucial to be able to show a client that you are covered by PLI (public liability insurance).

From today, you can add an “Insured” badge to your profile to show clients at a glance that you have PLI.

This works on both individual and group profiles, and when you add the badge you’ll need to input what the value of your insurance is (e.g. £10 million).

If you’re part of a union which offers insurance, and you’ve added the union badge to your profile, then you’re already sorted! The “Insured” badge should be visible on your page already.

Otherwise, simply head to your profile and click “Add PLI badge”:

As always, let us know your thoughts and suggestions – we love to hear from you!
